Mouth-Watering Hatred.

This week over at i heart faces they are doing a desserts challenge. But I'm not going to participate. But the judge is Bakerella and I had sadly never heard of her before. So I went on over to her website and found this. Yes, they are mint-chocolate brownies. Me, being the young missionary kid girl living in Central America that had never heard of mint chips hated myself for even looking at them knowing it would be a while before I could try them. So that is me being a masochist. Oh but just go look at it. And be prepared to fall head-over-heels in LOVE.

Some very nice friends of my family (and mine!) are in the country for a visit with their less-than-half-a-year old baby. He is a cutie! And oh his hair. His hair. Gosh, his hair. It's stinkin' hilarious!

Musical Texture.

This afternoon, I decided to download some textures and play around with them. I had previously downloaded Jodie Friedman's FREE texture applicator which is super amazing and if you, like me, had never used textures before, you will love this! It takes you step by step, pretty much! So, I downloaded two textures for this picture, both from deviantART. One was just a music texture and the other one was called Vintage Musk.

I'm pretty sure it looks overdone. But I was just playing with those specific textures and wanted to see what I could get. I think my smile also looks pretty posed in this picture and I don't exactly love super posed smiles. I like the natural, carefree, REAL smiles. 

On another note (bwahaha), we are facing a cold front or however you are supposed to say that. So, we are getting a lot of rain! I loveee rain and I am fascinated by the fact that it has rained pretty much all day today. Even though that is a pretty typical Costa Rican day!

I Heart Faces. Logo contest.

UPDATE: Go check out the winners over at I Heart Faces! My last photo placed as Amy Locurto's favorite photo that didn't make it to the top ten! Very good for it to have been my first time!

This week over at i heart faces they are having a logo photo contest. They have asked the participants to take pictures and include the “i heart faces logo” in a creative way, whether it’s naturally or “photoshopped.” I wasn’t going to enter, because I’ve never entered an i heart faces contest before, but after seeing everybody else’s entries I thought I might be able to enter too! The first two were taken yesterday and the last were taken today! I know very last minute. So, I bribed my brothers into helping me. They weren’t really all that excited but I got some nice shots, anyway.

I have never ever entered into an “i heart faces” contest, but I’ve been following them since around April 2008. I absolutely love them and have learned so much from their site! Thank you so much i heart faces and happy almost-birthday!

My first idea was to just write i heart faces on a piece of paper and see what I could get. Little M was my model for this one. :) Don’t you just love his little almond-shaped eyes?

So, this is my first blog entry. I've never tried blogging before, but since I like going on and on about everything , I'm pretty sure I'll like it. I am just an average girl living an average life. I love to smile. I enjoy finding pleasure in the minimal things. Bumblebees are my favorite, since I am a lover of everything yellow and black. I am a follower of Christ and my family and I are serving Him in a different country. My first language is Spanish, but English is my "first and a half." (: I love taking pictures and I am going to try to display some of these on here since this is what my blog is for. Below is just a picture I took on Wednesday of some random and cute flowers.
